Chennai - Elliot Beach

Also considered as the sister beach of Marina Beach as it also lies on the eastern coast of Tamil Nadu close to Besant Nagar. This beach is 60kms away from Chennai, is also recognized as the hot spot for the youth of Chennai as they gather here in the evening hours and therefore it is also famous as night beach among the youth.Elliot's Beach is one of the cleanest beaches in the city of Chennai. It is located towards the south of Marina Beach and is an extremely calm and tranquil place.

Best Time to Visit: Early in the morning or late evening. It is common that one can see many people enjoying the beach at night. High surveillance camera have been installed to ensure the safety of the tourist.

Karl Schmidt Memorial- Well-known attraction on the Elliots Beach, named after a Dutch sailor who gave up his life in saving a drowning swimmer.

Velankanni Church-  a pilgrim site for the Christians. 

Ashtalakshmi Temple: Devoted to Goddess Lakshmi, has a contemporary style of architecture which is different from other Temples in South India.

By Train: You can catch an electric train that traverses Besant Nagar.
